Every child should be safe, wherever they are. Parents and carers should feel confident that children are cared for and protected. As a Child Safe Organisation we care about the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
The Reportable Conduct Scheme means you can tell us concerns about child abuse and misconduct by workers. We will take all concerns seriously and respond appropriately.
What is reportable conduct
Reportable conduct includes:
- a child sexual offence
- sexual behaviour or misconduct involving a child, or in the presence of a child
- ill-treatment of a child
- serious neglect of a child
- physical violence involving a child, or in the presence of a child
- behaviour that causes serious emotional or psychological harm to a child.
You can learn more about types of reportable conduct on the Queensland Family and Child Commission website.
Reportable conduct can be one action or a series of actions. It does not need to happen at Sunshine Coast Health. Conduct can still be reported if it happens while the worker is off duty or outside work hours.
Who can a report be made about
You can tell us your concerns about any Sunshine Coast Health worker.
A worker is anyone who does work for Sunshine Coast Health. This includes our staff, volunteers, contractors, consultants, labour-hire workers, students, trainees, people here on work experience, and former workers.
How to report a concern
You can make a report to the:
- Sunshine Coast Health Service Chief Executive:
- Via email: SCHHS-HSCE@health.qld.gov.au
- In writing:
Sunshine Coast Health
Health Service Chief Executive
PO Box 5340,
Sunshine Coast MC Queensland 4560
- Queensland Family and Child Commission via the Report a concern page on their website.
If the report involves the Sunshine Coast Health Service Chief Executive, the Queensland Family and Child Commission must be notified directly.
