If a Medicare card number or other funding source cannot be confirmed, you may be required to pay for your treatment. Charges vary depending on the type and level of treatment provided. We may ask you to pre-pay for your treatment and any outstanding fees may be invoiced to you.

Emergency Department consultation fees and charges
When you go to the emergency department as an outpatient, the fee depends on how urgent your condition is. You should pay this fee before you receive treatment.

Additional fees
When you visit a clinic or outpatient service, we will charge you a fee for each appointment. This includes services from a doctor, nurse, midwife, clinician, dietitian, social worker, or other health professionals.
You may have more than one appointment on the same day. Each appointment will have its own fee, and you should pay before attending.
Other services such as medical imaging, pathology and medications will also incur additional fees.
