Join our 12-week vocational work experience (unpaid) and education program designed for International Medical Graduates (IMG's) as an Honorary Medical Officer.
About the program
STEPP-IN will help you prepare for a future in Australia's healthcare system, develop key clinical competencies and enhance your resume for future medical roles in Australia.
The program consists of:
- two (5-week) clinical ward rotations at Sunshine Coast University Hospital
- over 70 clinical education sessions - including content expert talks, high fidelity simulations and procedural and clinical skills sessions
- 5 online modules
- safe clinical practice education sessions
- orientation to local systems and protocols
- 24-hour medical library access.

Eligibility
Required
- Passed AMC MCQ Examination (part 1)
- Australian citizenship, permanent resident or hold a visa with full working rights
- Competent in English as outlined in the Medical Board of Australian Registration Standard: English Language skills.
- Undergraduate medical degree and Internship completed in the country of study
- Eligible for limited registration with AHPRA
Highly desirable
- Passed AMC Clinical Examination (part 2)
- Previously practiced medicine for more than 2 years
- Experience of clinical practice within the last 2 years
- Graduated and/or substantial paid employment as a doctor within the last 5 years
- Evidence of CPD completion, research involvement, publication or higher qualifications
