Sunshine Coast Health aims to take up to 24 candidates throughout the year with intakes averaging every 2 months. On successful completion of the program a certificate is issued by the AMC providing a step towards general registration.
Assessments
Assessments are completed at the level of PGY1/Intern. As per the AMC exam, assessments (mini-clinical evaluation exercise, case-based discussions, in training assessments and multisource feedback) are completed covering the following disciplines:
- Adult Medicine
- Adult Surgery
- Child Health
- Emergency Medicine
- Mental Health
- Women’s Health.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the WBA program at Sunshine Coast Health you must:
- have passed the AMC Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exams
- be employed by Sunshine Coast Health as a PGY2/+ Prevocational doctor and have completed a minimum of 2 (10 week) medical terms/rotations.
Applying
Requests for expressions of interest (EOIs) for the WBA program will be sent to current eligible employees, 2 months prior to the program commencement.
EOI applications will include:
- completed application form
- cover letter
- resume
- two referee reports
- two satisfactory assessment forms from Sunshine Coast Health.
Cost
The WBA program at Sunshine Coast Health costs $12,000. Payments can be made upfront or according to an agreed payment schedule.
Prevocational doctor positions
Applications for prevocational doctor positions will be considered through the annual Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and Registrar campaign and through the Queensland Health careers website outside of the RMO Campaign period
Successful candidates will be contacted directly by the Junior Medical Workforce team. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to provide individual feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
